PetSafe Viva foam filters are the first barrier in the fountain's filtration system. Placed around the pump, they trap hair, small debris, and larger particles before they reach the mechanism. This filtration helps limit the accumulation of impurities in the fountain and contributes to the protection of the pump.
They work in conjunction with Ion-X filters: the foam captures visible elements present in the water, while the Ion-X filter provides the second stage of filtration. The combination of both allows you to maintain the system designed for the Viva fountain and keep its performance over time.
The pack includes 2 replacement filters specifically designed for PetSafe Viva fountains. Their shape fits the designated location around the pump and allows for replacement of the used filter when cleaning the fountain. PetSafe recommends replacement every 1 to 2 months, with a frequency that may vary depending on the number of pets, the presence of hair, and the use of the fountain.
